Neuroimaging Special Interest Group
The members of the Neuroimaging SIG are interested in understanding how the brain itself relates to the cause (and complications) of eating disorders. At this time, our focus is almost exclusively on the cause of anorexia nervosa. Neuroimaging, psychiatry, psychology, neuropsychology, endocrinology, pediatrics, nutrition, internal medicine, genetics and epidemiology are among the areas of expertise. Members debate how recent findings influence the most hopeful next steps to our identification of the “brain pathway(s).”
Future Goals and Planned Activities
- Keep up to date with all developments in neuroimaging of eating disorders
- Share information on current and past projects
- Meet at international conferences
- Share resources and information
- Move toward developing a hypothesis driver and testable model
